Military artist and combat photojournalist, Corban Lundborg, shares his newest project titled "Extra". The series is a visual exploration of the press, propaganda and painting. Corban uses art to dig into WWII era headlines, learning more about our nation's past, hoping to better understand the future.
Corban uses a multimedia approach in this series. The panels are made of wood, then covered in paint, adhesive and newsprint, torn out of a book titled "WWII Extra". He then hand painted iconic WWII imagery on top of the print using acrylic paint. Finally, Corban recorded the whole process using a camera and produced a short form documentary about the project (posted above).
